Arthur John McClellan, 89, of Western Springs, Illinois passed away peacefully on June 30, 2016. He is survived by his beloved wife, Virginia (Janciar) of 63 years. Arthur was the devoted father of Marsha, Michael ( Elizabeth), Mark, David (Gina) and Douglas. He was the cherished grandfather of Erica, Julie, Amy, Kevin, Jack, Jaclyn, Eric, Gregory, Benjamin and Madeline. Arthur was born in 1926 in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania, the son of Arthur and Mildred and brother of Mickey and Mary Ellen. He graduated from Mt. Lebanon High School and enlisted in the United States Navy to serve our country in World War II. Arthur received his bachelors degree from Duquesne University. After graduation from college, he served in the Korean War as a communications expert. He built a highly successful career in the steel industry and was employed by US steel for over 35 years. He retired from US Steel as the General Manager of the Cyclone Fence Division. He went on to become an executive of Allied Corporation, a division of Tyco International. Art was an avid reader, frequent golfer and supporter of the Evans Scholar Foundation. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He was an active parishioner of St. John of the Cross Catholic Church. There will be a Memorial Visitation on Friday July 8, 2016 from 4:00pm-8:00pm at Hallowell & James Funeral Home located at 1025 W. 55th St. Countryside, IL. Family and friends will gather on Saturday, July 9, 2016 at 11:15am for a Life Celebration Mass at St. John of the Cross Church located at 5005 S. Wolf Rd. Western Springs, IL.
