Elmer “Fuzzy” Mueller, 87, of Countryside, Honorary Assistant Fire Chief & Paid On-call Firefighter for Pleasantview Fire Protection District with 53 years of service, WWII Army Veteran, and millwright. Beloved husband of Elaine. Loving father of Randy (Martha) & Kevin. Devoted grandfather of Valerie Mueller (Arnold Nino), Scott (Erin) Mueller, Katie (Paul) Brooner, Shelly, Jenni and Allie Mueller. Dear great-grandfather of Alaina Nino, Isabelle, Reid & Knox Mueller. Fond brother of Arnold (Jan & the late Mildred) Mueller. Dear uncle of many. Visitation 3 to 9pm Tuesday, Sept. 2 nd at Hallowell & James Funeral Home, 1025 W. 55 th St., Countryside. Will lie in state from 10am until time of Funeral Service 11am Wednesday, Sept. 3 rd at Trinity Lutheran Church, 11500 German Church Rd., Burr Ridge. Entombment Bethania Garden Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to Hope Lutheran Church, Countryside or your favorite charity appreciated.
Thank You Fuzzy, for always being there, you where always there with your warm unique laugh, and a cup of coffee/hot chocolate, thanks for showing everyone what is dedication, and what it means to be a firefighter!
Thank You to his family for letting his second family share him as much as he wanted, he is a shining example of community spirit. We know he spent a lot of time with us, and we enjoyed being with him, as much as he did us. He deserves the title of being a Giant of the Fire Service to all that knew him.
May The Lord Bless you and your family. Your service will always be remembered along with your tremendous family that you raised.

When I took the job of training/safety officer at Pleasantview in 1991, “Fuzzy” always supported me 100%
He also gave me a lot insights about how the department worked, and took an active part in the POC drills
I conducted. He was a real credit to the department and will be missed by all.
