Catherine Anne Mlot

MlotCatherine Anne Mlot, 63, of LaGrange.  Beloved daughter of Eleanor (late Marshall).  Loving sister of Christine (Ken) Kelly, William (Deborah), Marty (Sandi), Matthew (Mary) and Richard (Deborah).  Devoted aunt of Dr. Ellen (Jon) Mlot-Sfondlis, Benjamin, Brian and Angela Mlot, Rebecca (Caleb) Wahlgren, Stephanie (Mattheiu), Julia, Nicholas, Rachel Kelly and Michael Mlot.  Dear great-aunt of Zion and Ruby Wahlgren.  Also survived by her very special and faithful friends, Merry Mastny, Lynn Gribbon, Beth Jankowski, Betty Mort and June Van Der Vest.  A special thank-you to Barb and George Zycan for all the wonderful meals they provided.  Visitation 3 to 9pm Friday, May 15th at Hallowell & James Funeral Home, 1025 W. 55th St., Countryside.  Prayers 9:30am Saturday, May 16th at the funeral home to St. Cletus Church, LaGrange for Mass at 10am.  Interment Queen of Heaven Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to The Pillars appreciated.  Cathy was a very beautiful and creative person, never wanting to be served, but only to serve others. She was a member of St. Cletus Church and the Sherlockians.  She enjoyed the arts, especially the Lyric Opera.  She organized a Women’s Auxiliary, geneology, and she enjoyed traveling, collecting cookbooks from around the world.  Cathy was a voracious reader of classical literature and an accomplished seamstress.  Funeral home phone 708/352-6500 or www.hjfunerals.com

  1. Cathy? Who is Cathy? When we were hanging out together, she insisted upon being called Cam, which was not only her initials, but for an obvious relationship. We were united in our appreciation for Sherlock Holmes and her joie de vivre – of which she had an abundance. She remembered more about Sherlock Holmes than I did – but I would never have admitted that to her. Our world is poorer, and heaven is richer for her absence here.
