John W. Gardner, age 44; beloved husband of Dionne (nee Dauphinais); loving father of Emily; brother of Kirk Gardner; son of Edward (Fran) Gardner and Kathleen (Lynn) Hammond. John was a beloved grandson, brother-in-law, uncle, and friend of many; he was a proud member of Automobile Mechanics’ Local 701. I’ve only known John about four or five months,I am a new hire at USF Holland,he was the night foreman and a good one.I got bumped out of my spot at the McCook shop and started at the Joliet shop just the week before.I remember him coming over to me when I was packing my tools up and him shaking my hand,never thinking it would be the last time I would see him.I liked John and I liked working with him.I will misss him.He spoke of his wife and twelve year old daughter often,I .
