Elmer Rothrock, 86, of Burr Ridge, Korean War Veteran, passed away May 1, 2016. He is survived by his wife, Barbara, daughters JoAnn (John) Maynard and Nancy (David) Rothner; grandchildren, James, Patrick and Andrew Maynard, Nicole and Jack Rothner. He has 2 surviving brothers, Charles and Sheldon Rothrock. Memorial Visitation 1-6pm Saturday, May 7, 2016 at Hallowell & James Funeral Home, 1025 W. 55th St., Countryside. Elmer graduated from Penn State University and earned a Masters from IIT. He was a civil engineer for Chicago Bridge & Iron, board member Burr Ridge Middle School and West Suburban Symphony, Chairman of the Math Counts competition, twice Golden Gloves boxing champion, Pennsylvania and member of Community Presbyterian Church.
