Loving Wife, Mother and Grandmother, Mary Casey, 84, passed away September 23, 2016 in Chelsea, Michigan. Born in Chicago to Elizabeth and P.J. Reynolds, Mary was one of five children. After graduating from Aquinas High School, she attended college in Adrian, Michigan where she earned a degree in elementary education. This led to a life focused on education in both her professional and personal aspects. She married Martin “Jack” Casey in 1957 and they made their home in LaGrange, Illinois where they raised four children and Mary lived for 47 years. Mary was a teacher for many years in Chicago and LaGrange Public Schools. Her mission was to live an exemplary Christian life as exemplified by her regularly visiting the sick and elderly and distributing Holy Communion as a Eucharistic Minister. She was a dignified and kind woman who loved life and her family. She will be greatly missed. She is survived by her four children John (Kileen), Marian (John), Patricia (Mike) and Michael (Lauren) and by her nine grandchildren: Neil, Lynn, Jill, Jack, Grace, Michael, Matt, Audrey and Jack and two sisters Betty Marchetti and Kathleen Finnegan. She was preceded in death by her wonderful husband of 50 years, Martin “Jack” Casey. Visitation will be held for Mary Casey from 4:00-8:00 p.m., Friday, September 30, 2016 at Hallowell & James Funeral Home, 1025 West 55th Street, Countryside, Illinois, 708-352-6500. Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, October 1, 2016 at St. Francis Xavier Church, LaGrange, Illinois.
