We are sorry you have to go through this challenging time, but existence in suffering for Jay was terminated, and that was merciful. He will always be with you in spirit. We just never know what is in store for us. We all must consciously make each day matter and live in the Lord’s energy.
With sympathy and love.
To Margaret, the siblings, the parents and most importantly the kids (who have grown to be beautiful young adults inside and out) our hearts go out to you in your time of sorrow. It’s easy to fall back and dwell on some of the negatives, but eventually those will become smaller and the better memories will remain, grow and be embellished.
For me, a girl I was dating was going to turn me down if I asked her out again. I asked her out not knowing and said I was going sailing with my friends. She said yes, not because of me but because she got a chance to go sailing. Once she met my friends she figured if he has friends like these he can’t be all bad. 28 Years later we are still married.
Thanks you Jay and Margaret and fellow shipmates
Hi Mags,
This this message is very late as I only now heard of Jay’s passing (Augie Alumni magazine). I was shocked to hear of the death of such a young man. I can picture him in a Christmas card several years ago beside you looking happy and strong, flanked by his lovely children. I know your family will bring you some comfort and peace. I hope by now you are feeling better. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
Sincerely,
Beth Strunc Dalin
Also just hearing from an Alumni newsletter. Sorry to hear of your loss Margaret. I will always remember the year Jay and I were roommates at Augie and our conversations about sailing and his love for his girlfriend “Mags”. My prayers are with you and your family. May the Lord’s peace and understanding richly dwell with you all.
