Sister Margaret Ann White, C. S. J., age 85. Beloved member of The Sisters of St. Joseph of LaGrange, celebrating 66 years of Religious Life. Beloved daughter of the late Harold and Anne White. Loving sister of Sr. Collette White, O. P. and the late Janet Peters. Devoted aunt of many. Visitation 3:30 to 9pm Tuesday, Nov. 29, 2016 at The Congregation of St. Joseph Chapel, 1515 W. Ogden Ave., LaGrange Park, where Funeral Liturgy will be held at 7pm. Interment 10am Wednesday, Nov. 30, 2016 from The Chapel to Queen of Heaven Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to The Congregation of St. Joseph appreciated. Sr. Margaret Ann was a teacher at Divine Infant, Westchester; St. Hugh, Lyons; St. Francis Xavier, LaGrange; Our Lady of Bethlehem, LaGrange and Immaculate Conception, Elmhurst. She was Director of the Learning Center at St. Francis Xavier, LaGrange and Secretary to the Development & Alumni Office at Nazareth Academy. Sr. Margaret Ann was also Secretary of The Congregation of St. Joseph and Secretary to The Comboni Fathers. Arrangements entrusted to Hallowell & James Funeral Home at 708/352-6500
I miss Aunt Carole and mourn her loss. She contributed seven decades of tireless service to the LaGrange Park and greater community through many schools, missions, and community service organizations in the Chicago region.
I am fortunate to have seen her daily during two recent visits. Aunt Carole was able to attend my mother’s wake and sit beside the coffin at the funeral last week. A week after Mom,s passing, Aunt Carole was ready to join her.
She always welcomed my daughter and I every time we visited the Congregation of Saint Joseph. We always saw Aunt Carole actively engaged in the local community whenever we visited her. I will cherish her many emails, cards, and letters over many years of her loving devotion and patient service.
Aunt Carole continues to inspire me as a role model. Her legacy will be lived through her students, family, coworkers, congregation, and all who have been touched by her bountiful love, patience, and cheerful generosity to the divine spirit within each person whom she has served.
