John Warren Kravcik passed away on Jan. 20, 2017. Beloved husband of 62 years to the late Joan Kravcik. Loving father of Jim (Barbara) Kravcik, Jane (Michael) Murphy, and Jennifer (John) Shaughnessy. Devoted grandfather of John Paul, Andrew, Christopher, Robert, Elizabeth, Jonathan, Dillyn, Daniel, and John. Dear brother of Frank (Darlene) Kravcik and brother-in-law of the late Mary Therese (Robert) Maska, the late Frank (Betty) Hucek, the late Barbara (Frank) Rovtar, and the late Rosemarie (Jack) Trinko. Fond uncle of many nieces and nephews. He proudly served in the US Marine Corps and subsequently graduated from the University of Illinois with a degree in electrical engineering. He was the retired President of L-3 Electrodynamics, Inc. in Rolling Meadows, IL. John was a former Western Springs Village Trustee and President. He was an active member of St. John of the Cross Parish and served as head usher for many years. He also was on the Board of Trustees of Nazareth Academy. Visitation Monday, Jan. 23 at Hallowell & James Funeral Home, 1025 W. 55th St., Countryside from 3 to 8 PM. Funeral Mass on Tuesday, Jan. 24 at St. John of the Cross Church, 5005 Wolf Road, Western Springs at 11:15am. Interment at Queen of Heaven Cemetery. Funeral info: 708-352-6500
My Neighbor For decades. So sad to this news. Jane and Jennifer your dad was a wonderful man. So glad I got to live across the street from your family. My whole family sends their thoughts and prayers.

Gonna miss him as he talked highly of the Kids, Saint John of The Cross, Sandy his pup, and many major accomplishments in his lifetime. Proud to be a U S. Marine and in public service working for others. Loved his family and admired his wife expressing he was one blessed guy with his kids, grandkids, and many other people that crossed his paths. Talked highly of many great people he connected with including the pharmacy team at Mariano’s and always had a great perspective of getting a discount and passing it along to others. Blessings to his family, him, and many others here and in the heavens……
