Mary T. Detman

Mary T. (nee McNeeley) Detman, 61, a resident of LaGrange, passed away unexpectedly on May 15th, 2018. A skilled business woman, Mary successfully completed nearly 30 years of service with Martrac and UPS before retiring in 2014.

She was preceded in death by her father Donald McNeeley Sr., her mother, Alma McNeeley, and her brother, Danny McNeeley.

Mary is survived by her husband, Dale Detman, her eldest son, Nick (Shannon) Detman, son, Jacob (Carol) Detman, and daughter, Kalyn Detman. Mary was the very proud grandmother of four beautiful grandsons: Elijah, Zane, Judah, and Declan Detman. Mary came from a strong Irish Catholic family of seven children. Surviving her are her brothers: Donald (Beth) McNeeley Jr., Michael (Ellen) McNeeley, and John McNeeley and her sisters Patty (Rick) Grant and Maureen (Michael) Breskey. Mary is also the beloved aunt of several nieces and nephews.

A memorial Mass will be held at 10 a.m., Monday, May 21st at Saint Cletus Catholic Church at 600 W. 55th Street in LaGrange, with a gathering to follow that all are welcome and encouraged to attend.

  5. Mary was one amazing woman. She checked in and brought wonderful meals to my father in law many, many times. She was a genuinely caring person, who loved her family and adored her grandchildren.   14. Dale, I was shocked to hear of Mary’s passing. I’m sure your families must be devastated. Mary was always the light at the end of the tunnel. The voice of reason and positive thoughts.
