    1. One of the pleasures of visiting Illinois was having a conversation with Karen, in which she would be funny, grouchy, cynical, kind, forgiving, knowledgeable, and surprising. I tried to persuade her to write a memoir; she responded with an eyeball roll and a sidelong glance. You can all see that glance, right? It would have been an engaging memoir! She will be missed for a long time. Marie Meigs Delaney Glidewell, Sarasota Florida.

  1. Fifty years of friendship, neighbors for 25 years – so hard to not have you here. Your journey has been difficult the last several years and you now have peace, no pain and me not nagging you. Visit with those that have gone before and pet all the puppies and get that hole in one!!!
