Paul Robert Wojcik, 68, of Westmont. Beloved father of Jeffrey. Loving brother of William (Annemarie) Wojcik, Marlene Drygalski, David Wojcik, Mark (Laura) Wojcik and Janice (David) Rekstad. Dear uncle and great-uncle of many. Cherished cousin of Tom (Diane) Sikorski. Visitation 3 to 8pm with Funeral Service at 7pm Sun., March 17, 2019 at Hallowell & James Funeral Home, 301-75th St. (at Fairview Ave.), Downers Grove. Family and friends will meet at 8:30am Mon., March 18, 2019 at the funeral home to Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery for committal service and interment. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to Wounded Warrior Project appreciated. Paul was a decorated USMC Vietnam War Veteran. He was an American Patriot, who loved his country and President. He was an avid motorcycle enthusiast, who enjoyed long rides with his son since he was 16. Paul enjoyed the outdoors, working out, and being with his family and friends. Paul, we met in first grade and through the years shared so many fine times. It seems for so much of our lives the world only encompassed the area down Fairview from Prairie to 59th Street and over to Main Street. Our bikes easily navigated that universe. Ernie, Louie, the laundromat, Leo’s, IGA, GK Chevrolet, Cock Robin and the pool were our hangouts. We had fun, we got in trouble. We enlisted together and wrote each other weekly. You from Vietnam and me from Key West. I remember sitting in your backyard at night in the old days, hearing Bill burn rubber as he was coming home in his 56 Ford. 968-8661 as I recall, I’m as old as you so my memory may fail me on this. So glad we reconnected last fall. It had been too long. Godspeed Paul, you’re a good man and a loyal friend. You’re the dooge my man. Thank you for your friendship and being you. Amen.

Paul And I were 10 year difference…however I do recall all the places you named.
We communicated all the time…I miss him dearly
I was at his side in the hospital but I felt he was truly at peace.
My priest was leaving as we were coming in.
We were able to bless him with the sign of the cross for last rites.
Father said people are put in places at the right time.
