Michael K. O’Malley, age 58, of Hinsdale. Beloved husband of Tracy O’Malley. Loving father of Samantha (Eddie Golik) O’Malley and Sean O’Malley. Devoted brother of the late Patrick (Marcia) O’Malley, Mary (Jim) Bishop, Kathy (Tim) Sullivan, Marty (Vicki) O’Malley, John (Leslie) O’Malley, and Tim (Brigitte) O’Malley. Cherished son-in-law of Robert and Karen Mack. Fond uncle, brother-in-law, cousin, and friend of many. Preceded in death by his parents, Patrick Joseph and Marguerite Mary O’Malley. Michael dedicated his life being of service to others with the highest of integrity and love to all in many areas. His core belief was “Love and Attitude is Everything.” Visitation 3 to 9pm Wednesday, May 15 at Hallowell & James Funeral Home, 1025 W. 55th St., Countryside. Funeral prayers 9:15am Thursday, May 16 from the funeral home to St. John of the Cross Church, Western Springs. Mass 9:45am. Interment to be held privately. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of choice.

  11. My deepest condolences to Mike’s family. I met Mike when he brought me into the insurance business 30 years ago. He had a work hard play hard attitude like no one else I ever met. I will always have great memories of the times we shared including what Mike called career conferences. This usually took place at the York over a beer or two or three. He was always fun to be with. He will be missed.

He did everything to support me , I can’t forget his trainings and personal involvement in my personal business. He made me a professional who I am today.   15. A great guy and a born leader who commanded respect since the 2nd grade at Kenton Elementary School. Mike had a huge personality and always had compassion for the little guy. My sincerest condolences to the entire O’Malley family.

    1. I just found out about the sad demise of my friend Mike O Malley, please accept my sincere condolences and extend the same to his entire family. Having spend 40 plus years with MetLife I never saw a harder working person than Mike, we will sorely miss him.
      I went to President Conference with his brother Pat in 1977, and although I never worked in his office but maintained very cordial and friendly relationship with him for a very long time.
