  1. My endearing Uncle lived his role in life with his nieces and nephews as a “Princeps”………….a first among equals as an UNCLE in our family.

  2. So sad to hear this. My condolences to his family. Rest in peace, Albert..

  3. Albert was my dad’s cousin. They were good buddies. My dad passed away 20 years ago and I have a feeling they have been reunited and are catching each other up on the past 20 years. Albert sure did enjoy the garage sales and talking about his finds. He and Helen loved to travel and they had many good times. He was always full of stories and jokes too. My husband Dave and I thank John for his love and care for Albert and Helen over the years. Albert was quite a guy and I know he will be missed. Rest in peace Al.

  4. I am sad to hear of Albert’s passing. Albert and I are first cousins as his mother, Marie Miller Rodig, and my mother, Rose Miller Lessner, were sisters. I am 82, and I remember how worried we were during World War II, when Albert was stationed in England, and flying many missions. We were so grateful when he returned unharmed. Albert and I re-connected many years ago and he helped me with family history. We spoke on the phone occasionally and I always enjoyed his wonderful sense of humor. I will miss Albert dearly. A special “thank you” to John for looking after Albert all these years. You are a special person.

  5. Al’s grace and humor will be long remembered. He was the last of the circle of friends and relations from my Dad’s generation, truly one of the, if not the, greatest generation. I am sure there is now a great reunion in heaven as he has now rejoined Helen, Ann, and all the others who have gone before.

  6. David …
I just learned of your dad’s death in 2020. I knew Al and Helen through Cloverleaf Girl Scout Council. Both of them were wonderful friends. Both were very active in the Girl Scout organization. Your dad was proud of his service in WWII. He and I had common interest in WWII history.

Both were role models for so many. I treasure these memories.
