James G. Alex, age 79, longtime resident of Western Springs for 35 years, passed away on January 9, 2021. Beloved husband of Sharon C. Alex (nee Collins) for a wonderful 50 years. Loving father of James (Denise) Alex, David (Amy) Alex, Scott (Teresa Schmidt) Alex, and Susanne (BJ) Vorderer. Proud grandfather of Hannah, Abigail, and Nathan Vorderer & Jake and Elizabeth Alex. James was preceded in death by his parents, James and Adeline Alex & brothers, Nick and George (Vicky) Alex. Fond uncle and friend of many. Proud attorney for many years.

Visitation 4 to 9pm Thursday, January 14^th at Hallowell & James Funeral Home, 1025 W. 55^th St., Countryside. Group limit of 10 guests in the chapel at a time. Masks required and social distancing guidelines will be in place. Due to the current pandemic, a service will be held privately. Interment private. There will be a funeral Mass at a later date.
