Donna M. Pekarek, age 71, of Countryside; beloved wife of Chris for 51 years; loving mother of Vickie (Michael) Gros & Keith (Diane Wloch) Pekarek; proud Nani of Alyssa, Amanda, & Christopher and Matthew & Sophie; dear sister of Dale Heath; loving aunt of Greg Heath & Diana Damm.
Born in Chicago, graduate of Marian Catholic HS and College of DuPage. Girl scout leader, junior bowling coach, school volunteer were a few of her contributions to the community. Beyond her devotion to family and church she found her calling as an occupational therapist helping people regain quality of life capabilities. She loved to travel and with her smile, laugh and easy going demeanor she made friends everywhere.
Visitation 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday, May 28 at Hallowell & James Funeral Home, 1025 W. 55th St., Countryside. Funeral prayers will take place at 9:15 a.m. on Saturday, May 29 from the funeral home to St. Cletus Church, LaGrange. She is such a beautiful person inside and out. When ever I would talk to her, she always had a smile that would light a room. I will always miss her smiling face at Thanksgiving since that was when I saw her the most. Rest in peace. So very sorry for your loss.
