Dear Joie and the entire Hagedorn Family,

Just wanted to offer my sincere condolences at the recent passing of your dear father/grandfather/great-grandfather. May the Good Lord welcome his soul into Paradise with open arms, and may the peace of the Risen Lord, which is beyond all human understanding, gently descend upon each and every one of your grieving hearts. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you at this most troubling of times.

    Bill Halm

  2. Pops – you meant a lot to all of us in the Chicago music and pro audio biz. You always had a smile and a beautiful enthusiasm about you. You always helped me with the latest fake books for all those jobbing dates I played. God bless you and the Hagedorn family. Joe Stopka

  3. Pops, I was greatly saddened when I learned of your passing. You did SO much to help the youngsters learn and play music. God Bless you and may you Rest in Eternal Peace. Mark Lierly

  4. You were my first and only music teacher. I tried to play the accordion and, oh man, you were patient with me in my weekly
lessons. ( I was never that good) From the 1950’s thru the early 1960’s my dad would bring my little brother and myself to your basement music studio/showroom on 31st St in Cicero, for our 30 minute lesson. I knew you were a banker by trade and maybe some didn’t know, you also dabbled as full make-up and costumed circus clown. Pictures of that part of your life adorned the basement studio. You also played weekly in your music band. You and your band played at my wedding in 1969 (when people had live music at such occasions). As I remember you were very proficient in a variety of instruments
I just found out about your passing and I wanted to write a little something as I fondly remembered you. Al you lived
a long life that touched so many people, I am sure many of those were children you made laugh, as a clown and children who you
helped understand and learn the joys of music.
