Mitchell Dean Trier passed away at his home on Sanibel Island, FL on Monday, July 26, 2021 at the age of 58. He died unexpectedly with his beloved, Jenifer Trier comforting him by his side.
Mitch was born in Corning, CA to proud parents Robert and Donna (Purvis) Trier on August 21, 1962. He is survived by his parents, grandmother, Fern Trierweiler, brothers Steve Trier, Joe (Lisa) Trier and sister Kathy (Mike) Walker. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Eloy Trierweiler, Welthy and Lela Purvis and brother David Trier.
Mitch loved spending time with his treasured children, Tom Krieger, Jackie (Andy) Boyd, Jim Krieger, Mary (Kyle) Trier-Corcoran and Daniel Trier and his cherished grandchildren Lilly, Michael, and Greg Boyd.
Mitch grew up in Saint Paul, MN, attended the University of Minnesota and earned a Bachelor in Science from Northern Illinois University with a concentration in Finance and Economics leading to a successful thirty-year career as a Commercial Lender. He lived in Aurora, IL and Lisle, IL with his wife, Susan (Burdi) Trier and daughters. After divorcing, Mitch called Downers Grove, IL home for the next twenty years, residing with his wife, Jenifer (Sargeant) Trier and children. The difficult decision was reached in 2018 to permanently leave Illinois for the beach lifestyle and semi-retirement on Sanibel Island, FL.
A self-proclaimed intellectual “nerd”, Mitch enjoyed researching family genealogy and protecting historical family photos for future generations to appreciate. He took pride in volunteering for the Boy Scouts of America while his youngest son was a scout and enjoyed watching Star Trek and superhero movies. Mitch was a member of the Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus, the Trinity Lutheran Church and Bible Devotional Group, the Lisle Chamber of Commerce and a Certified Illinois Notary.
Mitch is survived by his children and many nieces & nephews.
A wake is planned for Mitch on Tuesday, August 3, 2021 from 2 – 9 p.m. at the Hallowell & James Funeral Home on 1025 W. 55th Street, Countryside, IL. A funeral service is planned on Wednesday, August 4, 2021 at 12 p.m. at Hallowell & James Funeral Home and internment to follow at Saint Adalbert Catholic Cemetery, 6800 W. Milwaukee Road, Niles, IL, meeting at the cemetery office at 2 p.m. All are invited to attend and celebrate his life.

Please accept my condolences on the untimely death of Mitch. I would have come in person to see you and the boys if my own health were better. I have fallen and broken 2ribs and going for a lung biopsy to determine if the lump is malignant or benign. I remember your wedding day and what a privilege it was to be your witness. Greetings Jennifer, I was sadden to learn that Mitch had made his transition. My condolences to you and your Family. Mitch was a great boss at Allied First Bank F/K/A, APA Federal Credt Union. I will forever remember him as an easy going guy w/ such a kind heart.
