Jose M. “Joey” Huerta, age 50, of Chicago, IL. Beloved husband of Liz for 20 years; loving father of Ariel and Joseph; cherished son of Mary and the late Jose Ma. Joey graduated from St. Joseph High School in 1989 and received an associates degree from Robert Morris College.
Joey joined the Chicago Police force in 2000 and was an active police officer for 21 years.
Along with his great love for his family, Joey loved playing baseball and loved coaching his daughter Ariel on her softball team. Joey also passed on his sense of humor and energy to his son Joseph.
Joey was a great athlete throughout his entire life. Sports and games just came naturally to him. Once he knew how to play a game, he would eventually become better than everyone else playing.

Huerta Family, I had the pleasure of working with Joey, as well as Paul, at RMU for several years. Joey was one of the nicest person you could have ever met! He was a great guy/officer. I was very sorry to hear about his passing.
