  5. I served with Wayne for over 20+ years on the Board of Directors of Lutheran Mutual Fire insurance Co. He was a faithful and knowledge servant who helped me learn some ins and outs of the insurance business. More than that he was a servant of our Lord as a man of faith in all that he did! Blessings to all the family members in their incredible loss.God be with them and keep them strong in faith!

  7. Wayne was o great neighbor who will be so missed. I’ll always visualize him mowing his lawn and planting his beautiful floral beds . And when he was done he’d go for a jog! Amazing! It was always fun when our kids played wiffleball between our two yards, with Wayne being the main dispute settler. Wayne was just an all around wonderful person who is gone too soon. Our prayers and sympathy go out to the whole Pahr family.

  8. Mr. Pahr was, in many ways, like a second father to me. He was half of the couple, along with Mrs. Pahr, that would watch me before and after school for 10 years growing up. He was such a great man. He had such a calm demeanor, which is amazing given how many kids that he had such a large part in raising and watching every day. He was a great friend to my whole family. He was my first basketball coach, daily driver to and from school, and caretaker. I can’t say enough about him. He will be sorely missed and my heart breaks for the entire family. Everyone that knew Mr. Pahr is better for it. God bless him and the entire family. He is surely in great comfort with Our Father now.

  9. We send our heartfelt condolences and love to Leonette and the Pahr family. I have so many wonderful memories of friendship with Wayne, Mark, and Barry during our time together so many years ago at Illinois State University. I will always remember Wayne’s modest but sincere smile that matched his likable spirit and friendliness. Jane and I pray for God’s peace and grace for the Pahr family to give strength through the sorrow.

  10. My high school teammate. My college roommate. My good good friend. Life sent us in different directions, but the lessons learned from Wayne have served me well these 55 years of knowing him. Lessons about honesty, loyalty, courage, humility, and faith. He was a wonderful man. I will miss him so.

  11. I am the fourth member of the Illinois State quartet. For those four years at ISU, we were thick as thieves doing almost everything together. Way too many stories to tell here.

I will always remember Wayne as a gifted and crafty competitor/athlete. More importantly, Wayne was a true friend and a trusted confidant. Wayne leaves me with nothing but great memories!

Leonette, our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family as you work through this transition.

  14. Doug and I had the privilege of knowing Wayne through our work with Lutheran Mutual Fire Insurance Co. Wayne was hardworking and dedicated, he had a love for his family and genuine care and concern for others that was present and apparent in his activites within the work community. We were blessed to have known him and encouraged by his leadership on the board of Lutheran Mutual. He will be greatly missed, but we hold to a certain future with our Lord Jesus Christ in heaven and have no doubt that we will see Wayne again. May God bless and comfort Lee and the family during this time. We were sorry to have been out of town during the funeral, but are so grateful for the links to be able to view the service.
Our prayers and love are with you! Doug and Tracie Schmitt

  15. To the family of our Postal brother Wayne, We thank you for letting him into our hearts with such a kind spirit. May God bless the Pahr’s family with love and strength through this season. He will be missed, but not forgotten. We want to thank you Wayne, for the time and hard work you put in at the Naperville Post Office.

  16. I too shared many memories of Wayne from the 2 years we shared experiences ay Illinois State University. If you could put together those who authored several of the ISU comments, you would witness the sincerely felt memories of Wayne and many others. While I lost contact with Wayne, I do recall seeing some 25 years ago when we got together to celebrate another of the ISU quartet.

Anne and I send our heartfelt sympathies and condolences to Wayne’s entire family as he has certainly left a significant void in the space he filled so well. The comments I see confirm my feelings of Wayne during the time our paths crossed many years ago.

    God Bless.
