Mary Jean “Gigi” Turk (nee Malek) age 85, of Darien, formerly of LaGrange; beloved wife of the late Richard; mother of Richard Jr. (Susan), Kathryn (Dale) Carlson, Michael (Cindy), Roberta and Amanda (Martin) Russell; grandmother of Michael (Courtney), Mitchell and Mary Jean; great-grandmother of Winry; sister of the late Joseph (Marcia) Malek; aunt, great-aunt and friend to many. Visitation 9am until time of service 11am, Tuesday, April 19 at Hallowell & James Funeral Home, 1025 W. 55th St., Countryside. Interment Resurrection Cemetery. I only knew Mary a short time, we were roomies at Plymouth Place. In that time I came to realize what a special person she was. My deepest sympathy to her family.

My Sympathy goes out to all my cousins . Although Gigi was just a few years older she would watch over me and my sisters (babysitter). She had that inner heart and mind of authority. In our later years, she started THE COUSINS WEEKEND. Trips to Dallas, New Orleans Las Vegas. Great times.
