Mary and I were friends from first grade and our parents were friends. I still laugh at some of the wonderful things Mary and her Dad would say at dinner. They had the greatest sense of humor. Mary had a terrific, positive spirit. She was a brilliant, caring educator who devoted her life to her students.
My 3 girls went to Trinity H S and all remember Mary (Mrs. Barrett)as a wonderful teacher, not just their favorite. She instilled such a love of history. I am thankful she was their teacher and my friend. We will all miss her.
