Dear Family Members – Donna was such a joyful part of our community at Providence and, for a brief while, Saratoga also. I always called her, Donna-Bo-Bonna – it seemed to capture her spirit. I loved having her in my worship services because she sang to the Lord with faith and sincerity. I could always count on a quick and pertinent answer whenever I asked her a question in my Bible studies. I really do and will miss her presence among us.
But I’m thankful that she knew and trusted Jesus as the One who is the resurrection and life. Such vital faith in Christ makes me hopeful to see her and greet her again – “Hi Donna-Bo-Bonna”!
May God’s love and peace in Christ be yours as you remember and give thanks.
Sincerely, Chaplain Heino Blaauw
Thank you Chaplain Blaauw for the beautiful service we had for my mom. Donna sure did like to participate in your services and bible studies. You were a blessing to her at a time she needed her faith. Blessing and love and peace to you. Cindy Iaccino & The Fischer Family
To all my Cousins and to my Dearest Aunt and Mother Donna. You ave been such an important part of my life. You helped me to grow up. You got me thru the rough beginnings of my marriage and then you taught Sal and I how to have a strong and loving life together. I thank you for teaching me laughter and kindness. Thank you for letting me be part of your family and showing me the importance of a strong loving family. I will never forget you. I will always feel honored you were in my life. I loved you yesterday, today, and always! Your niece and most of all, your great full friend. Christine (Fischer-Cutrona)
Thank you for these words, Christine! My grams loved you and Sal so much!
Hello Chris and Sal,
This is a very late reply, but Mom sure loved you both and loved visiting with you in CA. We will miss her spunk, laughter, kindness, love and strength. We “played” till the end of her days, seeing family on Father’s Day. Your Fischer family is still here in Illinois if you can come visit. There are a lot of us to come out there all at once, but hope in the near future we can visit sometime. Miss you both. Cindy & Dave and the rest of the crew
BITD everybody had two sets of parents. Their own and Mom and Dad Fischer. I was adopted. It’s not often that happens twice in a Lifetime. I had the extreme privilege of calling Donna Fischer “Mom”. I will always Love her. God speed, Sweetheart. You will be missed. Always remembered. G’night, Mom. #3🥀
Thank you Greg for your thoughts. My grams sure did make everyone feel like a part of the family! She was a special lady!
Dear Fischer Family,
I know your loss is enormous; Donna was “one in a million” and the best friend you could ever ask for. Our lives were intertwined and our families grew up together. She was a Mom, friend, confidant, counselor, and guide all rolled into one incredible woman. The world has become a little darker since her passing. Our lives are emptier but our hearts are filled with joy knowing she is reunited with Robbie and in the presence of her Lord & Savior. Our memories of Downers Grove and wonderful trips together will last forever. The love she gave so freely will sustain us until we meet again. You all are in our prayers for comfort and peace. Donna was a good and faithful servant; she gave love (and food) to all in need. And you, her family, her pride, and joy gave that love right back to her. Our heartfelt sympathy, Connie and Trevor Williams
Thank you for your kind words Connie. My grandma loved you and Trev. Anytime she talked about your times together you could see the joy on her face. Thanks for being such a friend to her.
Connie and Trev – Mom so enjoyed seeing you for that short visit last year. Soon after we had her 90th birthday party – and it was a celebration. We celebrated her the same at her services, she deserved a grand affair for sure. We miss her spirit every day, and we know she is watching us all. I have so many beautiful pictures of the two of you, and the 4 of you smiling and laughing. The way your always were together. She called you her best friend. We hope when you come to see your grandkids in the future you reach out to us. We want to keep in touch. Love, hugs and prayers to you all. Cindy & Dave and the Fischer Family.
I am so sorry to hear of Donna’s passing. Her bright smile and sweet laughter will be missed.
I will hold the entire family in my prayers that their warm memories will help them in their grief. To my friend Cindy, you have given your sweet mother years of life and love with your care and support. My love to all.
Thank you Terri for your thoughts. We will definitely miss that smile and laughter!
