Patty L. Stachnik, 79, was granted her angel wings on 07/04/2022.  Her final days were spent with her family and her 2 fur babies, Max and Archie.  Ms. Stachnik, formerly from Cicero, resided in Willowbrook for the past 27 years.

Born on August 8, 1942, to Miles and Irene Curda.  She graduated from Pestalozzi Froebel Teachers College in 1964 with a degree in Elementary Education.  Her teaching career was spent in the Cicero School District until she retired in 2008.  Ms. Stachnik also taught English as a Second Language for Morton Junior College for numerous years.

An avid counted cross stitcher, she would make numerous pillows, ornaments and framed pictures not only for herself but for friends and family members.  She was part of a “stitching group” that would meet on a weekly basis to just talk and stitch for hours on end.

Ms. Stachnik is survived by her daughter Laura L. Boak (Scott) and two granddaughters, who she loved dearly and would do anything for, Tiffany (fiancé Benjamin Strojny) and Ashley.

Memorial Visitation 1-4 pm Sunday, July 17, 2022 at Hallowell & James Funeral Home, 301 – 75th Street, Downers Grove, Illinois, 60516.

Ms. Stachnik will be buried with her parents in Mt. Auburn Cemetery, Stickney, Illinois.
