Loretta Smith, age 89, of Indian Head Park; beloved wife of the late Jacque Charles Smith; loving mother of the late Marichris (Steven) Golden, Dr. Jeffery Winthrop Smith, & Sir Jacque Charles Smith (Elizabeth); proud grandmother of Lauren (Colin) Van Dyke, John (Kristen) Golden, Julia & Isabella Menzel-Smith; great-grandmother of Alex & Max Van Dyke; dear sister of Joyce (the late Donald) Stupegia; fond aunt of Tony, Sean & Sarah Stupegia.

Loretta was a graduate of Northwestern University and the Chicago Teachers College. She also attended Vanderbilt University. She was a lifelong educator who was involved in a number of educational and professional sororities. The family will hold a Celebration of Life at a later date.
