Henrik H. Stroede, 91, of Downers Grove, formerly of Darien. Beloved husband of Irma. Loving father of Susan Schillaci (fiancé David LaGrange), the late Irene and the late Michael Stroede. Devoted grandfather of Brett (Erin), Matthew (Becky Caples) and the late Ryan Schillaci. Dear great-grandfather of Vincenzo, Annabelle, Olivia and Mia Schillaci. Fond uncle of many. Henrik was born in Germany and a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Burr Ridge, IL since 1970. He worked for Robert Bosch Company for 30 years. I’m so sorry to read of Henrik’s passing. He was one of the first people I met at Bosch when I began my career in 1967. We worked together in the Service Department until his retirement. He was one of the kindest, nicest people I know.
Henrik was a great guy and a neighbor. I didn’t work with him at Bosch but we helped each other with rides a couple of times. Long after I left Bosch he and his wife and another couple came out to Cooper’s Hawk to hear my jazz piano, sweet!
I had the pleasure of working with Henrik during my 17 years in the Service Department at Bosch. He was always friendly and helpful, and had a great sense of humor. He was always a big factor in making my employment at Bosch an enjoyable time. RIP, Henrik.
I met Henrik Stroede when l started in the Service Dept in 1969 and we saw each other at Christmas Parties arranged from Bosch and later at the retiree Christmas functions.

Henrik was both a mentor & good friend to me. He hired me at Bosch back in 1988, telling me “you keep your nose clean, work hard & you’ll go places”, I took that advice to heart & he proved correct. Even after our paths went in different directions, he made it a point to keep in touch & gather a few of us together for lunches, the last when I retired a couple years ago. I still have the sweet card he gave me at that occasion.
I will regret not hearing from him anymore, but will always celebrate the wonderful person he was….
My relationship with Henry started before my employment at Bosch. He Interviewed me and hired me for the Service Department as a Field Service Rep that started my 30 years at Bosch. Henry and I traveled together many times. I always enjoyed working with him. He was friendly, fair and a great boss. He will be missed.
Henry and I have known each other since he started his career with Bosch back in New York City. We continued to keep in touch years after our retirement from Bosch. I am shocked to heard of Henrik’s passing. I definitely will miss the many years of our friendship and our interesting phone conversations during our retirement.

As I read your condolences, I thought that I’d write to you, and hopefully this note reaches you in good spirit and good health.
I retired in Dec. 1998, moved to CA, and bought a commercial avocado grove in Oceanside. Two years ago we retired from farming, and bought a home in a golf community (Marbella golf club), in San Juan Capistrano, CA
Raili and I just celebrated our 51 wedding anniversary. We are both healthy, our 3 children are all on their own in Henderson, NV and in NYC. I hope that we can stay in touch.

It was quite a sad surprise to hear that Henrik left us so unexpectedly. Only a few days ago we tried to solve a problem together. Henrik was a good friend and we spend many hours together. We will miss him. Rest in peace.
Henry always had a smile, was patient and kind. He seemed to never age so news of his passing was surprising. We worked together at Bosch as so many here did—easy to see the positive impact he had on all he worked with. Henry—you had all of our respect for your technical knowledge and for being a truly nice man.
Henrik was one of our best friends. In the last couple of years we only saw Henrik and Irma when we were visiting in the Chicagoland area but we talked on the phone regularly. We can‘t believe that he is no longer with us. This came so sudden and unexpected. We wish Sue and Irma strength in this difficult time.

My long tenure at Bosch afforded me the pleasure of knowing so many wonderful people at Bosch. Henry was definitely one of those people. Though I never had work-related conversations with him, somehow I managed to share in the delight of his smile and warm personality. After my retirement, I got to know Henry through our Bosch Christmas Luncheons for retirees.
It was during these times, that he and his beloved Irma, would come and enjoy the camaraderie of both old and new friends.
Henry was a very special man, and will be missed by all who knew him.

Henrich was a kind man. I knew him more after he retired from Bosch. We enjoyed the same type of books and enjoyed having lunch together. Until we meet again my friend.
I was interviewed and ultimately hired at Bosch by Henrik back in 1975. The fact that I was an Army paratrooper (as was he), probably aided in my hiring process!!! Anyway, I worked with Henrik until he retired. I found him to be totally honest and fair; both to associates and customers. Post retirement, we stayed in touch via telephone and would meet for occasional lunches. Henrik was a great friend and positively impacted my life. I have many great memories of Henrik and shall not forget him. My sincere condolences to Irma, Susan, and family.
