James Ruid McManigal, age 97, of Countryside. Beloved husband of the late Ann Marie. Loving father of James (Mollie), Robert, John, and Susan (Frank) Tranchida. Cherished grandfather of Adam, Rachel, and Naomi McManigal, Frank (Katelyn), Lindsay (Brian) Chlada, and Daniel (Nicole) Tranchida. Fond uncle and friend of many.
James attended Plainview Elementary School and Lyons Township High School. He then enlisted in the Navy and served in World War II.
He spent his career as a business owner and contractor. He was very well known and loved in the community. You could always find James with a smile on his face and having a great time.
James enjoyed fishing and golfing. He also enjoyed spending time at his house in Cumberland, Wisconsin. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandkids.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Amvets are greatly appreciated.
Visitation 1pm until time of Funeral Service, 7pm, on Friday, April 14th at Hallowell & James Funeral Home, 1025 W. 55th. St., Countryside. Interment private. Funeral information: 708-352-6500
