Anthony D. Doyle

Anthony D. Doyle, of Willowbrook, Illinois, died peacefully in his home on November 1, 2023, at the age of 97.  Born on November 12, 1925, Tony was a veteran of World War II, a graduate of Santa Clara University, and an accomplished engineer at the General Electric Company and Keystone Consolidated Industries, but his true life’s work was his family.  He is survived by his daughters Mary Eileen Doyle, Kate Doyle (Inez Lauerman), Peggy Mayer (Edward), and Sally DelBeccaro (Edward), by his sons James Doyle (Deborah) and Thomas Doyle (Mary Kevil), by his twenty-two grandchildren, and by his twenty-seven great grandchildren.  He was predeceased by Jeanne Marie (nee Horan) who was his loving wife of forty-seven years and the mother of all his children, by his son John, by his daughter Ann Doyle Knepper, by his devoted sister Rita Charlotte Doyle Leavitt, and by his beloved companion, Mary Louise Kaufman.  Tony raised his family in Chicago and Homewood, supporting the education and careers of his children and encouraging their success at every opportunity.  He continued these habits with his grandchildren, who regularly gathered to celebrate their personal relationships with him at his annual birthday parties.  Visitation will be at Hallowell and James Funeral Home (301 75th Street, Downers Grove) on Friday, November 3rd, from 4-8 p.m.  His Funeral Mass of Resurrection will be at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church (701 Plainfield Road, Darien) at 11 a.m. on November 4, 2023.  Funeral guests are invited to join the family for lunch immediately after Mass.  Interment will be private.  In lieu of flowers, Tony requested that your generosity be directed to a favorite charity of your choice, or to the Mercy Home for Boys and Girls, 1140 W. Jackson Blvd., Chicago, Illinois, 60507.
