Clarice J. Paliatka, age 85, of Indian Head Park. Loving mother of Julie Paliatka (Mark Morrissey), Jeanne Paliatka (Olaf Nelson), Jennifer Paliatka, and Jason Paliatka. Proud grandmother of Ryan, Sam, Sarah, Jamie, and Marie Morrissey, Greta and Iris Nelson, and Lavanya Paliatka. Devoted sister of the late Robert (late Arlene) Neybert. Beloved aunt of Daniel (Janie), David (Paula), and the late Neal (Beth Venti). Cherished great-aunt of Zachary, Elizabeth, Lindsay, and Melissa. Clarice was preceded in death by her parents Henry and Marie Neybert.

After graduating from St. Ethelreda Elementary School and Academy of Our Lady High School, Clare earned a degree in English and Sociology at Mount Mary College and a Master’s in Social Work from Loyola University. She pursued a career as an adoption caseworker at Children’s Home and Aid Society. For twenty years, she worked at Nazareth Academy. After retirement, she volunteered as an ESL teacher with the School on Wheels. Her passions included world travel, theater and opera, reading mysteries, puzzles of all kinds, Twin Lakes, WI, the color pink, lunches with “the club ladies,” and spending time with her family.

Memorial Visitation 4 to 9pm Sunday, April 28th at Hallowell & James Funeral Home, 1025 W. 55th St., Countryside. Family and friends are invited to meet Monday, April 29th at St. John of the Cross Church, 5005 Wolf Road, Western Springs for 11am Memorial Mass.
