Michael “Mike” E. Trizil
Michael (Mike) E. Trizil, age 78, died peacefully at home on August 17, 2024 after a 6 year battle with renal cell carcinoma. Beloved husband of Mary Jane (née Hillstrom) for 52 years; loving father of Amanda Trizil (Greg Dale) & Meghan (Doug) Damascus; wonderful Papa & Papa-T of Boden, Avalon, & Aubrey; brother of the late Richard (Dick) Burke and half-brother to Martha, Kathy, & Carol – sisters he met later in life. He was a special uncle and brother-in-law.
Mike was a veteran of the United States Air Force and a retired Print Purchasing Agent. He enjoyed painting and creating works of stained glass, and watching the Cubs, Bears, StarTrek, & GOT. Spending time with his family, especially in Galena, brought him much joy. Importantly, he was the courageous Captain of Team Papa for the past 6 years.
Visitation 4 to 9pm on Tuesday, August 27 at Hallowell & James Funeral Home, 1025 W. 55th St., Countryside. Interment private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Mike’s name to St. Thomas Hospice (https://www.uchicagomedicineadventhealth.org/foundations/st-thomas-hospice) are greatly appreciated.

Mike sounded like such a wonderful guy that I wished I could have met years ago but now my heart aches for a half brother I never got to meet in person. So very sorry for the loss.
