Susan Ponstein Olson, age 68, of Downers Grove. Beloved wife of Robert Otto Olson, Jr. Loving mother of Michael and Jennifer Ponstein, Kelli (Evan) Anderson, Eric and Vicki Olson. Devoted grandmother of James and Matthew Anderson. Cherished daughter of Samuel and Virginia Burton. Dear sister of Kathy Burton. Interment private. Sue was a valued employee at Kohls for the last 27 years. She had a passion for interior design and loved spending time with family & friends. My heart goes out to the Ponstein family. I grew up knowing Susan as Mrs. P or Jen’s mom. Living in the neighborhood was some of my best early life moments, due to in large part the parents that felt like extensions of our family. I haven’t talked to you guys in many years but please know that times at the Ponstein house were some of my favorite moments. Susan was always kind and loving and fun. I never felt like just a school mate coming over, she extended her love to friends that her children cared about. I’m so unbelievably sorry for the loss of Susan. She’s forever a great woman and I’ll always be grateful for the memories she was a part of.
As a friend of Sue’s sister, Kathy, I loved hearing about her family. Although I never had the opportunity to meet Sue, I can hear the laughter the sisters must have shared across the years. My condolences to all for her too short time with them. Anjali
