Sharon S. Ebbert

Sharon S. Ebbert, age 87, of Lake Bluff; beloved wife John V. Ebbert for 64 years; loving mother of John S. Ebbert & Susan (Mark) Vogg; proud grandmother of Amanda (Eric) Moritz, Lauren (partner James Neiweem) Vogg, Kristin (Alex) Valente, & Elizabeth (fiancé CJ Wurster) Vogg; great-grandmother of Beatrice Mae & Theodore Joseph Moritz; dear sister of Kent (Sue Little) Connaughton; cherished relative of Marcia (Patrick) Nolan; friend of many.
Born in Fort Collins, Colorado, Sharon’s formative years with her loving parents and brother included notable stops in New Orleans, Louisiana at Metairie Park Country Day School and high school in Atlanta, Georgia.
Later, after graduating from the University of Idaho (B.A., Education) where she met her husband, John, Sharon pursued her passion for teaching with various teaching roles in the Chicago suburbs while raising two adoring children.
As a devoted mother, Sharon’s inherent kindness and good humor attracted a wide circle of friends that extended to her interest in the arts such as the Lyric Opera of Chicago, the Art Institute and her own explorations in painting and drawing.
In her retirement years, she sustained her passion for family and travel with her husband while living in Florida, South Carolina and, finally, Lake Bluff, Illinois.
Sharon was also a proud member of the P.E.O. sisterhood which celebrates, supports and motivates women.
A Memorial Service will be held privately with Sharon’s family.
